Strength in a Small Package
A Christ-Centered Scripture + Science + Geography Devotional About the Mighty Little Shetland Pony
— Philippians 4:13 NKJV
Small in Size. Wonderfully Designed by God.
With their fluffy coats, flowing manes, and sturdy little bodies, Shetland ponies are some of the most recognizable ponies in the world. But behind their adorable appearance is a remarkable story of strength, endurance, and God's incredible design.
Native to the rugged Shetland Islands of Scotland, these hardworking ponies were created with strong bodies, tough hooves, and thick, weather-resistant coats that help them thrive in challenging conditions.
In Strength in a Small Package, children will discover how God designed the Shetland pony for life on these windswept islands while exploring the powerful truth of Philippians 4:13: our strength comes from Christ, not ourselves.
Through Scripture, science, geography, and hands-on learning, children will be reminded that we are never too small or too young for God to use us.

SCRIPTURE + SCIENCE + WONDER
Our Strength Comes From Christ
Sometimes children feel too small, too young, or not brave enough to face something difficult.
The Shetland pony reminds us that something small can be wonderfully equipped for an important purpose. But the greatest lesson comes from God's Word.
In Philippians 4:10–13, the apostle Paul explains that he learned to be content through both plenty and hardship, because Christ strengthened him.
Philippians 4:13 isn't a promise that we can accomplish anything we choose. It's a reminder that Christ gives us the strength to face the circumstances before us and faithfully follow Him.
Just as God gave the Shetland pony what it needed for its purpose, we can trust Him to equip us for the work He calls us to do.
